The book

The first novel of The Frequency, set ten years after the machines won.

Cole Voss has survived alone by keeping a system: a silent morning circuit, a baffled water store, a hidden cellar under the ruin of a farmhouse. Then a grandmother and her nine-year-old granddaughter are standing at the door he has spent years making invisible, and the cellar that can sustain one person cannot sustain three.

Admitting them costs him the system that kept him alive. Refusing them costs him something else.
